  1. Acid Eaters is the thirteenth studio album by the American punk band the Ramones.. Released in , towards the end of the Ramones' career, the album is the band's first and only album entirely composed of covers. Acid Eaters forms a musical tribute to the Ramones' favorite artists of the s and highlights the influences the Ramones took from garage rock bands like the Seeds and the Amboy Genre: Punk rock, psychedelic rock, garage rock.
  2. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the CD release of Acid Eaters on Discogs. Label: Gala Records (5) - 4 • Format: CD Album • Country: Russia • Genre: Rock • Style: Punk, Psychedelic Rock5/5(1).
  3. Similar in form to (but better than) Joan Jett's earlier CD, "The Hit List", and conceptually related to the "Dukes of Stratosphear"'s tribute to 70's/psychedelic music, "Acid Eaters" is the Ramones' salute to some of the music that influenced their taste and style/5(45).
  4. Tearing through a bunch of psychedelic and garage rock classics from the s, the Ramones regain much of the fun and abandon of earlier records, making Acid Eaters easily their best record in a decade; the guest appearances of Pete Townshend ("Substitute") and ex-porn star Traci Lords ("Somebody to Love") help make the record a blast.4/
  5. Apr 17,  · Buy any other Ramones album other than this one. And if you're a completist who has to buy all the Ramones releases, get The Chrysalis Years. You get three CDs, including Acid Eaters and Mondo Bizarro, which has their cover of the Spider-man theme song. Ironically, that cover song is way better than anything off of this disastrous release.4/5().
  6. The Ramones play the Amboy Dukes! The Ramones play the Troggs! The Ramones play the Stones! Each new chestnut can render veteran fans speechless, and that's the point of Acid Eaters, of addition to offering short, sharp two-minute blasts of nostalgia, these 12 tunes make the case once more for the Ramones as essential rock archetypes: There have been punks before and /5(45).
  7. The second cover is "Somebody to Love" originally by Jefferson Airplane, but now a Ramones song in its own right, one of my favourite songs on the album. This album should be in any Ramones fans CD rack, the entire album is great to listen to/5(20).
