  3. The majority of this material feels more in line with hardcore punk than it does with what the Chili Peppers would become known for-- pieces like "Police Helicopter" and the twelve second "You Always Sing the Same" would not have been out of place on a Dead Kennedys album/5(19).

  7. About “Out in L.A.” This was the first song ever made by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the song was made over a poem by singer Anthony Kiedis and the help of Flea, Jack Irons and Hillel Slovak.
  8. Background. The tracks contained are varied with the inclusion of four remixes, live cover songs by Jimi Hendrix and Thelonious Monk ("F.U." is a joke lyric over the melody of "Bemsha Swing"), the band's first demos and joke songs. The outtake, "Blues for Meister", which was the first song sung by Flea that the band released, was the only song released or recorded with then guitarist.
